Respected restaurateur is looking for a talented Executive Chef for a highly anticipated new concept debut. The Executive Chef will be driving a menu rooted in Korean flavors, incorporating influences and nuances across the region – from Japan, Southeast Asia, to China. Seeking high end ingredient-driven Asian cuisine experience in highly respected kitchens. Michelin star or James Beard experience is a big plus!
Executive Chef Responsibilities:
- Designing and rolling out an initial opening menu with seasonal updates to follow (including menu costing)
- Ensuring that all food is consistently executed
- Hiring and training of culinary team members
- Maintaining proper admin – ordering, inventory, scheduling budget management
- Ensuring best practices for safety and sanitation in the kitchen
- Communicate with vendors regarding ordering, new product offerings, pricing, and all other product-related issues
Executive Chef Preferred Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience in a similar position (Exec Chef, Head Chef or Chef de Cuisine)
- Proven experience executing authentic high-level Korean, Japanese, and/or Chinese cuisine and techniques
- Passionate about delivering an elevated dining experience consistently
- Expert knowledge and fully fluent in P&L, managing inventory, and cost controls
- Proven methods in creating a positive and team building work environment
- Exceptional standards for cleanliness, health, and safety
- Flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and on holidays
