Leading Los Angeles hospitality group is looking for a dynamic and experienced Assistant General Manager to help lead the team at their thriving French bistro concept. This vibrant restaurant is known for its creative, multiculturally-influenced cuisine, impeccable service standards, and strong wine program. The ideal candidate will be coming from an upscale dining background, preferably in smaller and more independent restaurants. Looking for someone with strong leadership skills who is open to being mentored by ownership to help take the concept to the next level and train/develop a greener management team. Candidates should exude a warm, inherent hospitality presence in order to lead the team by example on the floor and behind the scenes. Some wine knowledge is also highly preferred. Assistant General Manager Responsibilities:
- Assist in overseeing day-to-day operations of the restaurant, including but not limited to, staffing, inventory management, and quality control
- Ensure the team is knowledgeable on the menu items
- Hire, train, motivate and coach team members
- Perform all aspects of the job with a high level of professionalism and integrity
- Take initiative and help to build business and repeat customers
- Provide leadership and guidance to front-of-house and back-of-house teams, fostering a positive work environment and ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures
- Uphold high standards of guest service and satisfaction, proactively addressing any issues or concerns to ensure a positive dining experience for every guest
- Work closely with ownership to monitor efficiency and COGS to optimize profitability while maintaining quality and service standards
- Foster opportunities for the team to learn and grow
- Continually strive to educate and develop of staff as it relates to food, beverage, and service
- Ensure the highest caliber guest experience in all areas
- Implement training programs to enhance team performance and skill development, promoting a culture of continuous learning and improvement
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations, conducting regular inspections and implementing corrective actions as needed
- Work closely with ownership to achieve business goals, contribute to strategic planning, and drive overall success of the restaurant
- Assist in overseeing the wine & beverage programs in collaboration with ownership
- Hold team accountable to high standards while remaining hands on and leading by example
- Fully understand and comply with all federal, state, county and municipal regulations that pertain to health, safety and labor requirements
Assistant General Manager Requirements:
- 3-5+ years of progressive management experience in an upscale, chef-driven restaurant concept is required; i.e. Restaurant Assistant General Manager (AGM), Service Director, Senior Manager, Restaurant Manager, Food & Beverage Manager, Dining Room Manager, FOH Manager, Hospitality Manager, or comparable title
- Independent restaurant background is highly preferred
- Some wine knowledge is also highly preferred
- Passion for high-caliber food, beverage, and high-end guest service
- Basic understanding of administrative functions and controlling cost of goods

Compensation Package Includes:
- Base Salary in the $85-90k range DOE
