A premier, international fine dining group is opening a new concept in the heart of Los Angeles! This successful restaurant group is looking for an experienced Staff Accountant with strong business acumen, work ethic and excellent communication skills with the ability to manage cost control, budgets and systems implementation. Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail are required in this position. Must be proficient in the use of excel, business intelligence tools, pivot tables, and have a flexible schedule. Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the day-to-day accounting
  • Responsible for all cash handling procedures
  • Manage Oracle accounting system
  • Periodic meetings and improvements
  • Day to day business management, corporate procedures and budget and quarterly forecast and achievement of profitability objectives
  • Monitor invoices and handle accounts payable
  • Track and maintain monthly P/L and balance sheet activity
  • Develop forecasts and budgets, identifying risks and opportunities
  • Resolving various accounting/reconciliation issues
  • Maintain inventory and cost control procedures
  • Perform related duties and special projects as assigned
  • Assist in month-end close procedures such as journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations and financial package preparation
  • Bank reconciliations
  • Upkeep of important legal entity files including liquor & other local licenses, sales tax permits, posted notices etc.
  • Oversee and assist, when necessary, with payroll department including tax returns, employee pay issues and file upkeep
  • Manage ACH process for outside vendors, light treasury management
  • Ensure adherence to financial laws and guidelines


  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting preferred or equivalent professional experience
  • 2+ years accounting experience or comparable role such as staff accountant, restaurant accountant, controller or comptroller
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to optimally present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
  • Basic algebra and geometry skills
  • Proficient in MS Office with emphasis on Excel
  • Experience with revenue control, financial reporting and cash handling responsibilities
  • Accounting experience in foodservice or retail industry required, foodservice operations experience a plus
  • Experience with sales analysis and reporting
  • Adept at planning, organizing and controlling complex processes as well as analyzing moderately complex financial information
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Skilled at managing multiple priorities and relationships
  • Computer skills: proficient in Microsoft Office with a concentration in Excel. Toast POS and Oracle experience a plus
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Bilingual in Spanish a plus
