Modern American restaurant featuring ingredient and market driven comfort food classics with bold, unforgettable flavors is seeking a Sous Chef. Would consider a CDC title for the right person. Candidates must have a strong foundation in technique as well as basic skills with ordering and inventory. Personality is incredibly important to the team, and the ideal candidate is someone who exudes positivity, creative energy, and can contribute to a positive workplace culture. Looking for a talented Chef who strives for excellence and is passionate about fresh, local ingredients!

Sous Chef Responsibilities:

  • Ordering, receiving and maintaining food costs (scheduling and P&L experience not required)
  • Creating prep lists for the staff
  • Overseeing BOH team and working the line
  • Working cleanly, efficiently, and with respect for ingredients 
  • Keep equipment clean and in excellent working condition 
  • Motivating and coaching staff 
  • Maintain a positive, work environment via effective, professional communication with other employees and managers 

Sous Chef Preferred Requirements:

  • Experience working in a professional kitchen as a Sous Chef for a minimum of 1 year, or 2 years experience as a Chef de Partie, Jr. Sous Chef, or Assistant Kitchen Manager (AKM)
  • Must have a strong foundation in technique and vast knowledge of culinary procedures and equipment 
  • Friendly, outgoing, energetic team player with a positive attitude 
  • Ability to think quickly and multi-task in a fast paced environment 
  • Flexible schedule
  • Food handlers license 
  • Ability to take and give direction
