$65000 – $80000

An iconic LA Chef is looking to bring on board a talented and passionate Sous Chef! Looking for an individual that would be excited to marry classic French technique with the bounty of Southern Californias local ingredients. Must have solid communication skills and value being part of a well-functioning team. Past experience in chef-driven concepts highly preferred. Sous Chef Responsibilities:

  • Creating incredible food of the highest caliber
  • Assisting with stocking and setting up the kitchen stations
  • Plating prepared foods based on the Executive Chef’s guidance
  • Washing and cleaning the kitchen and cooking utensils and storing the equipment at the end of shifts
  • Ensure that all food and products are consistently prepared and served according to the recipes, portioning, cooking and serving standards of the company
  • Ensuring that the kitchen operation procedures and hygiene meet food safety standards and regulations
  • Understand and maintain all policies, procedures, standards, specifications, guidelines and training programs. Follow through with training and coaching to ensure that all policies and laws are followed.
  • Maintain company expectations of food and service through the supervision of the entire kitchen team.
  • Fully understand and comply with all federal, state, county and municipal regulations that pertain to health, safety and labor requirements of the restaurant, employees and guests.

Sous Chef Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience as a Sous Chef, Kitchen Supervisor, Junior Sous Chef or Kitchen Manager in a top tier kitchen
  • Experience in chef-driven restaurant concepts is highly preferred
  • Excellent kitchen administration knowledge and ability to work as part of a team
  • Excellent communication skills and leadership qualities
  • Knowledge of general administrative functions such as ordering, inventory
  • Flexible schedule, including weekends, and on holidays
