Iconic Santa Monica hotel is looking looking for an up-and-coming Pastry Chef for a small intimate pastry program focused on focaccia production and plated rustic desserts. The hotel has two outlets plus in-room dining.

Pastry Chef Responsibilities:

  • Manage the production of desserts and bread
  • Monitor and order ingredients, supplies and equipment
  • Ensure the kitchen is clean and sanitized at all times
  • Carry out administrative duties to maintain an efficient workspace
  • Collaborate with Executive Chef 

Pastry Chef Preferred Requirements:

  • Proven experience working as a pastry chef in a fast-paced environment
  • Extensive knowledge of how baking ingredients work together
  • Time management skills to deliver orders on schedule and avoiding wasting food
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Commitment to perfection and genuine passion for hospitality
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new situations
  • Flexible schedule including early mornings, weekends, nights and holidays
