Renowned restaurant group with highly popular concepts across Los Angeles is seeking an experienced Marketing Director to join the team. This role will be responsible for strategizing and executing marketing campaigns, developing social media strategies, and working closely with the teams at all of the concepts to create a clear brand vision. It is imperative that this person have a strong restaurant background and understanding of restaurant marketing to be able to serve as a company-wide leader and brand ambassador. Someone coming from a Restaurant GM or Ops role where they were required to be involved with in-store local marketing would be most ideal. This role will be based onsite in West Los Angeles and may require some travel. An amazing opportunity for a talented Restaurant GM looking to move away from day-to-day operations and further their experience in the industry!

 

Marketing Director Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and analyze existing marketing campaigns to improve strategy and tactics, and reach new markets/audiences
  • Develop and execute new marketing campaigns for both the restaurant group and individual concepts; including the design, writing, and distribution of e-newsletters and maintenance of e-mail lists
  • Create copy for and maintain updates to company website and websites for individual restaurant concepts
  • Design and write copy for printed and digital marketing collateral; i.e. check presenters, flyers, signage, menu adjustments, event/catering decks, business cards, social media graphics, etc.
  • Liaise with external graphic designers and programmers/coders for large-scale projects and website updates
  • Ensure that review sites like Yelp, Google Business, TripAdvisor, etc. have current photography, descriptions & hours, and identify opportunities to organically solicit positive reviews
  • Act as the organization’s in-house photographer to create and maintain a collection of contemporary photography for press, marketing, website and social media needs consistent with company values and brand essence
  • Manage social media platforms for all existing restaurant concepts and identify new platforms for outreach  
  • Develop customized social media presence and strategy for each restaurant concept
  • Outline social media SOPs for the restaurant group and train key players at the respective restaurants to support with account maintenance  
  • Liaise with chefs, partners, managers and sommeliers at each restaurant to develop a distinct, creative voice consistent with the style and values of each location
  • Off-site visits to individual restaurant concepts to gather up to date content for social media channels
  • Respond to customer inquiries and engage with followers across various social media platforms
  • Support with vetting and facilitation of social media influencer request/site visits and conduct outreach to influencers or partners within brand values

Marketing Director Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in Restaurant Marketing (Marketing Manager, Director, or Coordinator), Graphic Design, or Social Media Management / Coordination
  • Restaurant experience is REQUIRED
  • Must be social media savvy and comfortable using platforms like Instagram, Facebook and Twitter for business pages
  • Excellent time management, organization and prioritization skills, with proven ability to work effectively, independently and accurately with minimal supervision
  • Excellent graphic design, photography, and editing skills
  • Very strong written communication skills as well as interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations
  • Strong sense of work ethic, professionalism and polish
  • Strong project management skills, proactive problem solving skills and strong sense of resourcefulness
  • Refined computer skills, including but not limited to: all Microsoft Office programs and Adobe Creative Programs (i.e., InDesign, Photoshop/Lightroom, Illustrator)
  • Experience and proficiency with e-mail marketing programs like Mailchimp and Square
  • Familiarity with website platforms like WordPress and Squarespace and familiarity with SEO
  • Prior exposure to web-based design and social media monitoring programs like Canva and Buffer are preferred, but not required
  • MUST be able to work collaboratively and assist others
  • Must be willing to work a flexible schedule as necessary and be able to travel as needed
