Assistant General Manager – New Michelin Caliber Project Los Angeles CA
Salary: $100000 – $110000
Award winning, highly acclaimed dining group is launching an exciting new project in LA! This is a highly anticipated opening, and the team is currently in process of identifying an Assistant General Manager. Ideal candidates will be coming from a strong foundation in chef-driven upscale or fine dining restaurant concepts, with some level exposure to elevated, Michelin-caliber dining and service. Candidates should also have some experience managing large teams within higher volume restaurant concepts. This role will be responsible for supporting the GM to help spearhead the opening, leading/training the team, and upholding very high service standards. Previous experience with P&L, forecasting, inventory, and COGs is strongly preferred, and a high level of emotional intelligence and strong interpersonal & leadership skills are essential. Assistant General Manager Responsibilities:
- Support the GM in overseeing all aspects of the operation within the restaurant – including but not limited to, staffing, inventory management, and quality control
- Provide consistent execution and exemplary service to guests at all times
- Direct the FOH team to ensure all opening, mid, and closing procedures are followed
- Foster a positive work environment and ensure adherence to company policies and procedures
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the restaurant
- Ensure Michelin-caliber guest experience in all areas
- Assist the GM with recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and retaining a successful team
- Train, coach, and mentor all team members
- Ensure completion of food safety checklists and compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations, conducting regular inspections and implementing corrective actions as needed
- Solve any guest issues in a timely and appropriate manner
- Assist in maintaining and managing food cost and troubleshooting any issues that may arise
- Assist in managing P&L, forecasting, COGs, and inventory control
- Work closely with the General Manager to achieve business goals, contribute to strategic planning, and drive overall success of the restaurant
- Fully understand and comply with all federal, state, county and municipal regulations that pertain to health, safety and labor requirements
Assistant General Manager Requirements:
- 3-5+ years of progressive management experience in an upscale or fine-dining restaurant concept is required; i.e. Restaurant Assistant General Manager (AGM), Service Director, Senior Manager, Restaurant Manager, Food & Beverage Manager, Dining Room Manager, FOH Manager, Hospitality Manager, or comparable title
- High service pedigree is required
- Any Michelin, Forbes, James Beard, or chef-driven restaurant experience is highly preferred
- Any opening experience a plus
- Passion for high-caliber food, beverage, and high-end guest service
- Strong knowledge of wine and spirits
- Basic understanding of administrative functions and controlling cost of goods
- High attention to detail
- Reliable and punctual
- Toast POS, Clover, or similar POS experience
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to thrive in a hands-on, high-touch service environment
- Experience in dealing with high end/VIP clientele
- Strong interpersonal, leadership, coaching, and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to prioritize and manage time effectively
- Strong critical thinking and problem solving abilities
- Ability to analyze processes and information, identify problems and trends, and develop effective solutions and strategies
- Commitment to providing exceptional service to guests and support to staff members

- Computer proficiency, including the use of Microsoft office

Compensation Includes:
- Base Salary in the $100-110k range DOE
- Bonus Potential
