Unique hybrid role in an ingredient-driven streamlined concept for someone looking to bridge the gap from culinary into FOH. With a team that is entirely cross-trained, the role calls for a talented hands-on chef with a strong culinary background excited to lead the daily operations for both the restaurant and commissary. Chef General Manager Responsibilities:

  • Manage and positively impact all areas of the day-to-day operations for restaurant and commissary
  • Ensure all food and products are consistently prepared and served according to the restaurant’s recipes, portioning, cooking and serving standards
  • Ensure proper execution of third-party ordering platforms (delivery, takeout, etc)
  • Facilitate the successful coordination of in-store kiosks and online ordering with culinary execution, resolving any guest issues, inaccuracies, or errors
  • Constructive, thoughtful leadership, mentorship, training and coaching to create a successful cross-trained team and positive work environment
  • Maintain operational control of purchasing, receiving, inventory, waste, food cost and COGS
  • Increase brand awareness and success by monitoring customer feedback and reviews seeking to improve service and product
  • Set an example to the team by providing excellent hospitality and service at all times in line with company standards and values
  • Fully understand and comply with all federal, state, county and municipal regulations that pertain to health, safety and labor requirements

 

Chef General Manager Qualifications:

  • 3+ years’ experience in a management role (Executive Sous Chef, CDC, Exec Chef, Head Chef, Kitchen Manager) in a chef-driven respected restaurant (full service, upscale, or high-end fast casual restaurant concept)
  • Expert knowledge of culinary systems, production workflows, inventory controls and delivery logistics
  • Computer proficiency: Familiar or able to learn managing online and third-party ordering platforms, their implementation in restaurants and troubleshooting issues
  • Experience in managing P&L, administrative functions and, controlling cost of goods
  • High attention to detail, problem solving and a passion for food, beverage, and guest service
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Exceptional standards for cleanliness, health, and safety
  • Flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and on holidays
