Lauded Los Angeles based hospitality group is expanding to Mexico City and looking for a stellar General Manager to helm the opening of one of their high-end restaurant concepts! The ideal candidate has a proven background in respected upscale or fine dining restaurants in the U.S., and a very strong understanding of American-style hospitality service. Candidates must be highly organized, efficient, and passionate about coaching and developing team members in order to provide high standards of service and a stellar guest experience. It is important that this person have a collaborative yet disciplined leadership style in order to hold themselves and the team accountable to high standards. The ideal candidate exudes an inherent hospitality presence, and can both understand and mentor staff on the nuances of U.S. style service in a way that translates well to the local team.

Open to candidates with Mexican or American citizenship, but some experience working in respected, U.S. based restaurants is required. This person must also be fluent in Spanish/bilingual. This is an incredible opportunity for someone with a true passion for hospitality who loves to train and develop strong teams to be involved with a very exciting opening!

General Manager Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and positively impact all areas of the business including: sales, costs, employee retention, guest service and satisfaction, food quality, cleanliness and sanitation
  • Support with all pre-opening activities for the restaurant
  • Ensure quality and consistency of all products served
  • Ensure all equipment is kept clean and in excellent working condition
  • Maintain positive and cooperative relationships with all vendors and business partners
  • Foster opportunities for the team to learn and grow
  • Continually strive to educate and develop of staff as it relates to food, beverage, and service
  • Creating a positive and fun working environment
  • Developing a positive relationship with guests
  • Taking ownership of the business to increase sales and profitability
  • Increasing brand awareness by creating marketing plans
  • Set an example to the team by providing excellent hospitality and service at all times
  • Anticipate the needs of the restaurant and act upon them
  • Be knowledgeable of restaurant policies regarding personnel and deliver prompt, fair and consistent corrective action for any and all violations of company policies, rules and procedures
  • Fully understand and comply with all local regulations that pertain to health, safety and labor requirements

General Manager Qualifications:

  • 3-5+ years of experience as a Restaurant General Manager (GM), Multi-Unit General Manager, Food & Beverage (F&B) Director, FOH General Manager, Director of Outlets, Director of Restaurants, or FOH Department Manager from a full-service, upscale or fine dining restaurant concept is required
  • Spanish fluency is required
  • Some experience working in respected U.S. based restaurant concepts is required
  • Any prior opening experience and exposure to similar style restaurant concepts is a big plus

Compensation Package Includes:

  • Base Salary in the $65-85k range DOE
