Premier restaurant group is seeking a talented Chef de Cuisine for their seafood-centric California coastal cuisine concept. A passion for wood-fired cooking utilizing the highest quality ingredients available is essential.  Seeking a chef with great leadership skills to coach, develop and respectfully lead the team while holding them accountable to high standards.

Chef de Cuisine Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring that all food meets the highest standards of quality and consistency
  • Collaborate with leadership on menu
  • Proactively managing costs and budgets
  • Maintaining proper ordering, inventory, and P&Ls
  • Staff Management (scheduling, hiring, training, mentoring)
  • Maintain a positive, work environment via effective, professional communication with other employees and managers 
  • Ensure best practices for safety and sanitation in the kitchen

 

Chef de Cuisine Preferred Requirements:

  • 3+ years experience in a similar role (Executive Sous Chef, Exec Chef, Head Chef)
  • Chef-driven background in respected restaurants
  • Wood-fired cooking experience with a variety of proteins, including seafood and other high-quality ingredients
  • Familiarity with Los Angeles coastal market
  • Excellent communication skills and leadership qualities
  • Exceptional standards for cleanliness, health, and safety
  • Expert knowledge and fully fluent in P&L, managing inventory, and cost controls
  • Flexible schedule, including weekends, and on holidays

 

Compensation / Benefits:

  • Competitive base salary in the $80-$95k range
