Award winning dining group is launching an exciting new project in LA, and they are looking for an Executive Pastry Sous Chef to support the team and daily operations. Seeking a talented creative pastry chef with a passion for leading their team towards a flawless execution of the menu in close collaboration with the savory team. Ideal candidates will be coming from a strong foundation in Michelin and James Beard acknowledged fine dining concepts.  Great opportunity to be part of a very exciting new project with a highly acclaimed team!

Executive Pastry Sous Chef Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with the greater team on pastry menu
  • Monitor and order ingredients, supplies and equipment with attention to seasonal sourcing and sustainability
  • Ensure the kitchen is clean and sanitized at all times
  • Carry out administrative duties to maintain an efficient workspace
  • Hire, train and develop team members

 

Executive Pastry Sous Chef Preferred Requirements:

  • 3 years proven experience working as an Exec Pastry Sous Chef, Pastry Chef, Pastry Sous Chef in respected Michelin, World’s 50 Best,  and/or James Beard recognized restaurants
  • Creativity to design new and unique menu items which align with the top-quality standards of the company
  • Extensive knowledge of baking/pastry techniques and plating aesthetics
  • Leadership skills to manage the pastry section and staff in a kitchen, including hiring the right staff and motivating the team towards efficiency and excellence
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to work successfully in a high-performance environment
  • Cost control, menu costing and inventory management experience
  • Flexible schedule including early mornings, weekends, nights and holidays

 

Compensation Package Includes:

  • Base salary in the range of $90-$110k
  • PTO
  • Medical benefits
