A Provençal-inspired dining experience in the heart of West Hollywood
Chez Mia is the latest addition to the West Hollywood dining scene, debuting in October 2024 to much acclaim. Taking over the former Ago space in a prime location near the corner of Melrose and La Cienega, Chez Mia pays homage to the beauty of Coastal European travel, drawing inspiration from the rich landscape of Southern France. Boasting one of the city’s best new patios, Chez Mia transports guests to the French Riveria with its vibrant atmosphere, spacious greenery-lined patio and terrace, and Côte d’Azur inspired cuisine.
The extensive yet refined menu features an array of traditional dishes, seafood and caviar specialties from fresh crudos to grilled swordfish, high-end steaks, as well as vegetarian and gluten free dishes. They use only the freshest ingredients, seafood, and proteins, sourced from local purveyors and farmers. The bar menu offers an array of specialty wines and fresh, inventive cocktails with a French twist, that pair perfectly with the inviting al fresco dining experience.

Chez Mia is seeking an experienced, ambitious, and entrepreneurial General Manager to lead the team and oversee all operational aspects of the restaurant. Responsibilities include hiring, training, and developing staff, driving sales to help build the business, implementing impeccable standards for service quality & consistency, and maintaining a strong presence on the floor during service while leading the team by example. Looking for proven restaurant leaders with a background in cultivating growth and success within respected, high-volume, upscale or fine dining concepts. Familiarity with the West Hollywood dining scene and clientele is a huge plus. It is important that this person have a collaborative yet disciplined leadership style in order to establish a rapport with the team and ensure a consistent, top-tier guest experience in all areas. The ideal candidate exudes an inherent hospitality presence and understands that the details make a difference. General Manager Responsibilities:
- Oversee and positively impact all areas of the business including: sales, costs, employee retention, guest service and satisfaction, food quality, cleanliness and sanitation
- Develop/improve upon and implement operational strategies, policies, and procedures to increase consistency, efficiency, and quality of guest experience
- Maintain a strong presence in the restaurant on a regular basis
- Ensure quality and consistency of all products served
- Ensure all equipment is kept clean and in excellent working condition
- Maintain positive and cooperative relationships with all vendors and business partners
- Work to standardize any manuals or forms that can better help streamline operations within the restaurant
- Foster opportunities for the team to learn and grow
- Continually strive to educate and develop of staff as it relates to food, beverage, and service
- Creating a positive and fun working environment
- Developing a positive relationship with guests
- Taking ownership of the business to increase sales and profitability
- Increasing brand awareness by creating marketing plans
- Set an example to the team by providing excellent hospitality and service at all times
- Anticipate the needs of the restaurant and act upon them
- Stay up to date on industry trends, competition, and customer preferences to identify opportunities for innovation and improvement
- Be knowledgeable of restaurant policies regarding personnel and deliver prompt, fair and consistent corrective action for any and all violations of company policies, rules and procedures
- Fully understand and comply with all federal, state, county and municipal regulations that pertain to health, safety and labor requirements
General Manager Qualifications:
- 4-5+ years’ experience as a Restaurant General Manager (GM), Multi-Unit General Manager, Food & Beverage (F&B) Director, FOH General Manager, Director of Outlets, Director of Restaurants, Service Director, or FOH Department Manager in a full-service, upscale, high-volume restaurant concept is required
- Understanding of the West Hollywood dining scene/clientele is highly preferred
- Proven experience driving growth and success with minimal oversight
- Ownership mindset and values and ability to take on a lot of responsibilities at once
- Proven track record in leading/motivating a team and holding staff accountable to high standards
- Ability to multi-task and switch directions accordingly
- Strong knowledge of wine and spirits
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Highly organized with impeccable attention to detail
- Resourceful and effective problem-solving skills
- Ability to thrive in a high-pressure environment
- Experience in engaging with VIP guests and clientele
- Develop relationships with guests to create & maintain guest retention
- Collaborative, hands-on, team player mentality
- Process driven and able to implement operating procedures that will continue to maximize efficiency
- Exceptional standards for cleanliness, health, and safety
- Experience in managing P&L
- Flexible schedule, including weekends, and on holidays
- Food Safety Certification
- Able to stand/walk for long periods of time
Compensation Package Includes:
- Base Salary in the $120-140k range DOE
