California Italian concept serving thoughtful, innovative food is seeking a talented Chef de Cuisine to lead the team. There will be a strong core pizza program, with ample room for creativity with the remaining menu, which will boast ingredient-driven authentic Italian cuisine. Looking for a chef passionate about Italian technique through a California ingredient lens. Prime location!

Chef de Cuisine Responsibilities:

  • Menu development in collaboration with the owner, keeping track of new trends in the industry
  • Ensuring all food meets the highest standards of quality and consistency
  • Recruiting, hiring, training and development of culinary team members
  • Proactively managing costs and budgets, maintaining proper ordering and inventory
  • Communicate with vendors regarding ordering, new product offerings, pricing, and all other product-related issues
  • Ensuring best practices for safety and sanitation in the kitchen

 

Chef de Cuisine Preferred Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience in a similar position ( Executive Sous Chef, CDC, Executive Chef)
  • Excellent communication skills and leadership qualities
  • Proven experience in Italian cuisine
  • Creative, innovative thinking, collaborative and able to give and receive feedback
  • Exceptional standards for cleanliness, health, and safety
  • Experience in managing inventory and cost controls
  • Flexible schedule, including weekends, and on holidays
