California Italian concept serving thoughtful, innovative food is seeking a talented Chef de Cuisine to lead the team. There will be a strong core pizza program, with ample room for creativity with the remaining menu, which will boast ingredient-driven authentic Italian cuisine. Looking for a chef passionate about Italian technique through a California ingredient lens. Prime location!
Chef de Cuisine Responsibilities:
- Menu development in collaboration with the owner, keeping track of new trends in the industry
- Ensuring all food meets the highest standards of quality and consistency
- Recruiting, hiring, training and development of culinary team members
- Proactively managing costs and budgets, maintaining proper ordering and inventory
- Communicate with vendors regarding ordering, new product offerings, pricing, and all other product-related issues
- Ensuring best practices for safety and sanitation in the kitchen
Chef de Cuisine Preferred Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience in a similar position ( Executive Sous Chef, CDC, Executive Chef)
- Excellent communication skills and leadership qualities
- Proven experience in Italian cuisine
- Creative, innovative thinking, collaborative and able to give and receive feedback
- Exceptional standards for cleanliness, health, and safety
- Experience in managing inventory and cost controls
- Flexible schedule, including weekends, and on holidays
