Small independent group is seeking a talented Chef de Cuisine that is passionate about Spanish cuisine through a California and San Francisco lens. The concept draws upon the bounty that Northern California has to offer with an ingredient-driven approach to a longstanding Western Mediterranean staple cuisine. Chef de Cuisine Responsibilities:
- Inspired approach to menu building pulling influence from Spanish, Western Mediterranean, and California ingredients
- Proactively managing costs and budgets, maintaining proper ordering and inventory
- Staff Management: scheduling, hiring, training
- Leading, mentoring, coaching a strong team, building a collaborative, positive work environment
- Ensuring best practices for safety and sanitation in the kitchen
Chef de Cuisine Preferred Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience in a similar position (Senior Sous Chef, Executive Sous Chef, CDC) or 1 year as a Head Chef or Executive Chef
- Spanish and/or Western Mediterranean cuisine experience in well-respected and highly reputable restaurants
- West Coast culinary experience ideal
- Spanish language knowledge preferred
- Excellent communication skills, leadership qualities, and collaborative mentality
- Exceptional standards for cleanliness, health, and safety
- Flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and on holidays
Compensation / Benefits:
- Salary in the $100-$120k range
