Exciting new Levantine concept from a popular Los Angeles group is seeking an Assistant General Manager to help lead the team and spearhead the opening. This owner operated, team focused group is known for their focus on local artisanal ingredients, superior product, and strong systems/structure. The ideal candidate has a warm, guest-facing personality and thrives on providing tailored, memorable guest experiences. The new concept promises an authentic, inviting Middle Eastern dining experience, so it is imperative that candidates can embrace the nature of the concept and quickly grasp the style of service in order to help train and develop a strong, cohesive team. Any prior levant/Eastern Mediterranean cuisine experience is a huge plus!

Assistant General Manager Responsibilities:

  • Perform all aspects of the job with a high level of professionalism and integrity
  • Establish positive work culture
  • Provide Support for GM and support with pre-opening activities
  • Maintain cooperative relationships with all vendors, business partners, and staff
  • Encourage opportunities for the team to learn and grow
  • Continually strive to educate and develop of staff as it relates to food, beverage, and service
  • Ensure stellar guest experience in all areas
  • Solve any guest issues in a timely and appropriate manner
  • Oversee and positively impact all areas of the business including: sales, costs, employee retention, guest service and satisfaction, food quality, cleanliness and sanitation
  • Ensure quality and consistency of all products served
  • Ensure all equipment is kept clean and in excellent working condition.
  • Be knowledgeable of restaurant policies regarding personnel and deliver prompt, fair and consistent corrective action for any and all violations of company policies, rules and procedures.
  • Fully understand and comply with all federal, state, county and municipal regulations that pertain to health, safety, and labor requirements

Candidate Qualifications:

  • 2+ years’ experience as Restaurant Assistant General Manager (AGM) or 3+ years as a Restaurant Manager, Food & Beverage Manager, Dining Room Manager, FOH Manager in an upscale fast casual restaurant concept
  • Any prior exposure to Levant/Middle Eastern restaurants/style of service is big a plus
  • Mix of high-end casual and upscale fast casual dining experience is highly preferred
  • Some knowledge and understanding of upscale or fine dining, high touch is ideal
  • Strong leader and motivator to the staff and management
  • A lead by example approach
  • Extreme attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Effective problem-solving skills
  • Ability to thrive in a high-pressure environment and maintain composure
  • Exceptional standards for cleanliness, health, and safety
  • Establish relationships to maintain service standards and increase guest retention
  • Experience in assisting with managing inventory and cost controls
  • Computer proficiency, including the use of Microsoft office
  • Strong knowledge of and passion for food and beverage
  • Flexible schedule, including weekends, and on holidays
  • Food safety certification

Compensation Package Includes:

  • Base Salary in the $75-80k range DOE
