General Manager – New Levantine Concept! Los Angeles CA
Salary: $100000 – $105000
Authentic, approachable Middle Eastern restaurant from a popular Los Angeles group is seeking a passionate, service-oriented General Manager to lead their team! Opening soon on the Westside, this reinvigorated concept will feature a full bar, curated wine list, and an array of levant cuisine favorites for lunch & dinner in an inviting, elevated atmosphere. The ideal candidate has an inherent understanding of hospitality and can quickly grasp the nature of the concept, in order to deliver superior service and set high standards for the rest of the team. Someone with a warm, outgoing personality with the ability to read the room and anticipate guests’ needs. There are strong training plans already in place, so this role will be primarily focused on guest service/experience and coaching and developing the team to hold them accountable to high standards. General Manager Responsibilities:
- Oversee and positively impact all areas of the business including: sales, costs, employee retention, guest service and satisfaction, food & beverage quality, cleanliness, sanitation, and other facilities maintenance
- Ensure quality and consistency of all products served
- Ensure all equipment is kept clean and in excellent working condition.
- Maintain positive and cooperative relationships with all vendors and business partners
- Foster opportunities for the team to learn and grow
- Continually strive to educate and develop of staff as it relates to food, beverage, and especially service
- Maintain a very strong floor presence and interact with guests
- Create a positive and enjoyable working environment
- Develop a lasting relationship with guests and staff
- Taking ownership of the business to increase sales and profitability
- Increasing brand awareness and membership by creating marketing plans
- Set an example to the team by providing excellent hospitality and service at all times in line with company standards and values
- Anticipate the needs of the establishment and act upon them
- Be knowledgeable of company policies regarding personnel and deliver prompt, fair and consistent corrective action for any and all violations of company policies, rules and procedures
- Fully understand and comply with all federal, state, county and municipal regulations that pertain to health, safety and labor requirements
General Manager Qualifications:
- 2-4+ years’ experience as a Restaurant General Manager (GM), FOH General Manager, Food & Beverage (F&B) Director, Service Director, or comparable management role in a full service, upscale, or high-end fast casual restaurant concept is required
- Mix of high-end casual and upscale fast casual dining experience is highly preferred
- Some knowledge and understanding of upscale or fine dining full-service is ideal
- Restaurant opening experience is a plus
- Passion for food, beverage, and guest service
- Collaborative and humble leadership style
- Experience in managing P&L, administrative functions and, controlling cost of goods
- High attention to detail
- Ability to anticipate and manage guest demands while exceeding expectations
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong interpersonal, leadership, coaching, and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to prioritize and manage time effectively
- Ability to analyze processes and information, identify problems and trends, and develop effective solutions and strategies
- Commitment to providing exceptional service to guests and support to staff members
- Exceptional standards for cleanliness, health, and safety
- Computer proficiency, including the use of Microsoft office
- Able to stand/walk for long periods of time
- Ability to develop guest relationships and maintain retention
- Flexible schedule, including weekends, and on holidays
- Food safety certification
