Looking to even further expound upon their core value of service, the team is planning a dedicated volunteer day for each month of 2025. Team members are also eligible to earn PTO for every hour that they volunteer at a company-sponsored event.

Love Catering is looking to add a Business Development Manager to the team as part of their next phase of growth. This role will focus primarily on outside sales, generating leads, establishing new client relationships, and rekindling old ones. Working in tandem with ownership and the existing sales team, this person will be responsible for expanding business opportunities into new target markets, driving revenue growth, and ensuring new and existing client satisfaction. The ideal candidate has a strong sense of initiative and a proven background in off-premise catering sales, with the ability to hit the ground running and add immediate value to the team. Someone with well-established relationships, a strong book of business, and deep ties to the LA community is essential. Job Responsibilities:

  • Research, identify, and pursue new client relationships and business opportunities through strategic outreach and introductions
  • Generate and secure new leads across the company’s various service streams, including event catering, drop-off food service, and large-scale events
  • Meeting with clients to determine their needs and working in collaboration with the current sales team to exceed expectations
  • Networking internally and externally to obtain leads and build relationships with new, existing, and old clients
  • Create a positive, supportive, and efficient work environment for the sales and operations team in line with company culture and values
  • Develop catering sales plans for new target markets and long-term operational strategies, including conducting needs assessments and strategic planning
  • Evaluate the company’s current client base to identify opportunities for growth and support the sales team in expanding the volume of business
  • Maximizes revenue through expert promotion and relatability
  • Create and maintain a strong database of leads, future opportunities, and existing clients to ensure effective and organized tracking of new and future relationships
  • Work in close collaboration with the sales team and ownership to ensure effective client follow-up both pre- and post-event
  • Keeping abreast of industry trends, sharing these with the team, and incorporating insights into business development strategies
  • Participate in regular departmental progress meetings and professional development opportunities
  • Attend events as needed and required, including “all hands-on-deck” events and days
  • Understands the Los Angeles market – competitor’s strengths and weaknesses, economic trends, supply and demand, etc.
  • Maintain a positive working relationship with outside vendors while upholding brand integrity and company values
  • Participate in company volunteer initiatives and ongoing efforts to give back to the community

Candidate Qualifications:

  • 3-4+ years of experience as a Director of Catering, Catering Sales Manager, Event Sales Manager, or comparable business development/sales role in the hospitality industry
  • Off-premise catering and/or event experience is required
  • High-volume, premium catering industry experience is highly preferred
  • Candidates be local to Los Angeles with a strong book of contacts
  • Solid understanding of event revenue generation
  • Strong ability to build and foster lasting working relationships
  • Proven track record of sales performance along with marketing/prospecting programs that drive event revenue
  • Proven ability in leadership, communication, and negotiation skills
  • Creative selling ability to close on business and negotiate contracts
  • High energy, collaborative, and outgoing personality
  • Commitment to providing excellent service to guests and support to staff members
  • Can easily adapt to the dynamic needs of a multi-faceted business
  • Proactive with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Organizational skills, efficiency, and high attention to detail
  • Experience using Google Suite software and Microsoft Office Excel
  • Diplomatic team player able to foster relationships with FOH and BOH team, VIP clientele, and vendors
  • Knowledge of basic safety, health and sanitation standards
  • Flexible schedule including weekends, evenings and holidays is required

Compensation Package Includes:

  • Base Salary in the $80-85k range DOE + Commission
