Popular Westside neighborhood café is seeking an outgoing and flexible General Manager to lead their team! Someone who truly understands the value of hospitality in order to foster an environment of teamwork, while establishing a strong rapport with a team of longtime staff. The GM should possess the mindset of always being “of service” to others, and be able to lead by example so this translates to the rest of the team. The ideal candidate is extremely self-motivated and systems driven, with a creative outlook when it comes to leadership and training. Although it is a café environment, it is preferred that candidates have both quick restaurant service experience in addition to some knowledge of fine dining. General Manager Responsibilities:
- Perform all aspects of the job with a high level of professionalism and integrity
- Guiding and leading the team
- Establish a positive and fun work culture while building a strong rapport with staff
- Managing costs
- Maintain cooperative relationships with all vendors, business partners, and staff
- Encourage opportunities for the team to learn and grow
- Continually strive to educate and develop of staff as it relates to food, beverage, and service
- Having a strong floor presence to ensure stellar guest experience in all areas
- Ensure quality and consistency of all products served
- Maintain, support and promote company culture and philosophies
- Ensure all equipment is kept clean and in excellent working condition
- Developing a positive relationship with guests
- Taking ownership of the business to increase sales and profitability
- Increasing brand awareness by creating marketing plans
- Setting an example to the team by providing excellent hospitality and service at all times
- Anticipating needs of the restaurant and acting upon them
General Manager Qualifications:
- 1+ years’ experience as a Restaurant General Manager (GM), Food & Beverage (F&B) Director, or FOH General Manager, OR 3+ years as an Assistant Restaurant General Manager (AGM), FOH Department Manager, Service Manager/Assistant General Manager, or Hospitality Manager is required
- Casual/fast casual dining experience preferred
- Some knowledge and understanding of fine dining is preferred
- Proven track record in leading and motivating a team
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills & attention to detail
- Effective problem-solving skills
- Ability to thrive in a high-pressure environment
- Exceptional standards for cleanliness, health, and safety
- Experience in managing P&L
- Flexible schedule, including weekends, and on holidays
- Food Safety Certification
- Be able to stand/walk for long periods of time
- Develops relationships with guests to create & maintain guest retention
- Process driven and able to implement operating procedures that will continue to maximize efficiency
