Progressive, fine dining California-steakhouse is looking for an Executive Sous Chef to support the team! Part of a respected independent restaurant group with a commitment to scratch cooking and stellar experiences. Routinely high-volume services call for an Executive Sous Chef with strong organizational skills, attention to detail and the ability to execute well under pressure. Looking for an individual from a respected restaurant background (ingredient-driven kitchens only!). 

Executive Sous Chef Responsibilities:

  • Provide exemplary leadership to the team while collaborating closely with Executive Chef
  • Proactively managing costs and budgets
  • Ensuring that all food meets the highest standards of quality and consistency
  • Maintaining proper ordering, inventory and scheduling
  • Ensuring best practices for safety and sanitation in the kitchen
  •  

Executive Sous Chef Preferred Requirements:

  • 3 years past experience as a Sous Chef in a respected restaurant with progressive responsibilities or 1 year as Exec Sous, Senior Sous Chef, or Chef de Cuisine 
  • Passion for the culinary industry and love of scratch cooking and quality execution 
  • Track record in chef-driven restaurants
  • Strong longevity in past roles
  • High level of organization and attention to detail
  • Previous experience in a fine dining, high volume environment
  • Exceptional standards for cleanliness, health, and safety
  • Flexible schedule, including weekends, and on holidays
