Salary: $130000 – $150000
Rare multiunit role with a growing independent group! Seeking a talented Culinary Director to oversee menu development across all concepts in collaboration with company leaders. This individual will focus on culinary innovation, R&D, new menu rollouts, and quality assurance. Great opportunity to join a progressive chef-driven group which values healthy kitchen leadership and guidance.
While this role is focused on the creative side, there is some overlap with operations and looking for a Chef that takes into consideration business from a holistic point of view.
Culinary Director Responsibilities:
- See the creative process through from menu curation to in store execution: innovation, R&D, rollout, and quality assurance
- Collaborate with Executive Chefs on R&D for menus dependent on location/concept
- Help lead and guide chefs to achieve consistency in executing new menus through tastings, coaching and refining
- Recruitment, hiring, and training of key management level chefs
- Assist in any future concept development and openings
- Lead food safety & sanitation efforts
Culinary Director Preferred Requirements:
- Ideally 3+ years experience in a multiconcept Chef role such as a Regional Chef, Multiunit Executive Chef, Area Chef, or Corporate Chef in high volume concepts
- Diverse background in ingredient driven, respected, chef-driven, scratch kitchens
- California Cuisine familiarity, history within the Los Angeles market, and passion for locally sourced ingredients highly preferred
- Any pizza experience a plus, but not required
- Analytical and written communications skills, organization, problem solving and presentation
- Strong leadership and teaching skills
- Progressive approach to management
Compensation / Benefits:
- Salary in the range of $130-150k (no bonus at this time)
