Growing midsize restaurant group is seeking an adept Culinary Director to join the team as they continue to grow their culinary leadership. This NEW role will be primarily focused on developing, refining and integrating SOPs, operational efficiency, with cost analysis and mitigation in mind. The Culinary Director closely collaborates with other senior culinary leadership, including some overlap on areas like innovation and recipe development. The team is very much looking for a Chef who considers the business from an integrated and panoramic perspective.

Culinary Director Responsibilities:

  • Assess and refine existing systems and standard operating procedures
  • Innovate and roll out any new culinary processes, including assisting in developing training materials for culinary team
  • Cross-functionally collaborate across corporate and operational teams for common goal of excellence 
  • Translate SOPS across multiple concepts, making adjustments where needed 
  • Evaluate and contribute towards financial analysis on culinary side, including but not limited to cost variances, forecasting, budgeting, etc
  • Help lead and guide Executive Chefs to achieve goals through training and mentorship
  • Participate in recruitment, hiring, and training of key management level chefs
  • Assist in any future concept development and openings
  • Assist in food safety & sanitation efforts 


Culinary Director Preferred Requirements:

  • Ideally 3+ years experience in a multiconcept or multi service format style Chef role such as a Regional Chef, Multiunit Executive Chef, Area Chef, or Corporate Chef
  • Ideally exposure to mid volume restaurant locations (5 MIL+) or higher
  • Full service restaurant experience highly preferred
  • Diverse background in ingredient driven, respected, chef-driven, scratch kitchens a plus
  • Knowledge of local Los Angeles market preferred
  • High level of analytical and written communications skills, organization, problem solving and presentation
  • Expert leadership and teaching skills
  • Progressive approach to management


Compensation / Benefits:

  • Salary in the range of $130-150k (no bonus at this time)
