Stylish Southbay fine dining steakhouse is looking for talented Sous Chef (potentially Executive Sous Chef for the right person)  to join the team. The menu offers wood-fired cooking and a modern take on the classics with close attention to sourcing top-quality ingredients. Great chance to join a small and growing chef-driven group with accomplished leadership in place!

 

Executive Sous Chef / Sous Chef Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all food meets the highest standards of quality and consistency
  • Provide exemplary leadership to the team including training of culinary team members
  • Maintain proper ordering, inventory and scheduling
  • Proactively manage costs and budgets
  • Follow best practices for safety and sanitation in the kitchen
  • Assist culinary leadership in tasks outlined above, but not limited to exclusively this list

 

Executive Sous Chef / Sous Chef Preferred Requirements:

  • Exec Sous Chef: 2+ years of experience as a Chef de Cuisine, Exec Sous Chef, or Sr. Sous Chef 
  • Sous Chef: 2+ years of experience as a Sous Chef, Kitchen Manager, Kitchen Supervisor, Jr. Sous or similar role
  • Experience in scratch chef-driven concepts required
  • Experience with chops, grill, and steakhouse cuisine a plus
  • Passion for unique, quality, locally sourced ingredients
  • Solid track record of staying in jobs for several years
  • Exceptional standards for cleanliness, health, and safety
  • Flexible schedule, including weekends, and on holidays

 

Compensation / Benefits:

  • Hourly equivalent of a base salary in the range of $70-$77k for a Sous Chef, with potential to flex up to 85k for someone at the Executive Sous Chef level (based on a typical 50 hour work week)
