Salary: $65000 – $70000
Authentic Italian restaurant is looking for a passionate junior Sous Chef to join the team for their new LA opening in early Q1. This independent group focuses on sourcing quality ingredients to provide classically delicious, approachable dishes. Exciting time to join a growing company that doesn’t cut corners on genuine regional Italian cuisine!
Sous Chef Responsibilities:
- Provide exemplary leadership and guidance to the team
- Ensure that all food and ingredients meet the highest standards of quality and consistency
- Support Executive Chef wherever possible
- Assist with proper ordering and inventory
- Follow and implement best practices for safety and sanitation in the kitchen
Sous Chef Preferred Requirements:
- 2 years’ experience as a Sous Chef, Junior Sous Chef, Kitchen Supervisor, or Asst. Kitchen Manager
- Previous experience in an all-scratch kitchen required
- Ingredient-driven Italian experience, with knowledge of handmade pastas and pizza required
- Southern Italian cuisine experience a huge plus
- Exceptional standards for cleanliness, health, and safety
- Flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays
Compensation / Benefits:
