Successful restaurant group is seeking an operations-driven Executive Chef for a modern coastal steak & seafood concept with a solid concept in place. The chef should enjoy creating and implementing structure in the kitchen as well as developing and mentoring a strong team. Financial acuity is key with established experience in cost controls, systems and standard operating procedures. Prior steakhouse and/or seafood experience preferred.

Executive Chef Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that all food meets the highest standards of quality and consistency
  • Proactively manage costs and budgets ensuring a fiscally responsible kitchen
  • Maintain proper ordering and inventory
  • Communicate with vendors regarding new product offerings, pricing, and all other product-related issues
  • Staff Management including scheduling, hiring, mentoring, and training
  • Foster a positive, motivating work environment via effective, professional communication
  • Follow best practices for safety and sanitation in the kitchen

 

Executive Chef Preferred Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience in a similar position (Head Chef, Chef de Cuisine, or Exec Chef)
  • Previous steakhouse experience preferred
  • Expert knowledge and fully fluent in P&L, managing inventory, and cost controls
  • Excellent communication skills and leadership qualities
  • Exceptional standards for cleanliness, health, and safety
  • Flexible schedule, including weekends, and on holidays

 

Compensation / Benefits:

  • Base Salary: $85-100k + bonus
