Creative independent concept debuting soon on the Westside is looking for a talented Beverage Director to join the team. This role will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the bar program, and will also act as a Restaurant Manager during service with a highly guest-facing presence on the floor. Other responsibilities include ordering, inventory, training the bar team, developing operational systems, and cocktail creation. This is an intimate concept with less than 50 seats, so it is imperative that this person is comfortable both behind the bar making cocktails and engaging with guests on the floor. The ideal candidate has a deep knowledge of European spirits, excellent training skills, and a passion for exemplary food, beverage, and guest service. Beverage Director Responsibilities:

  • Assist with research and development of a fresh, creative, and inspired beverage program in line with the overall vision of the business
  • Receive, stock, and inventory liquor
  • Ongoing development and training of team members to ensure growth, knowledge, and professionalism
  • Cost Management
  • Willingness to work behind the bar and be present on the floor as an acting Restaurant Manager
  • Develop a positive relationship with guests
  • Ensure consistency and cleanliness of bar and bar program
  • Contribute to creating a positive and fun working environment
  • Develop programs/methods to increase efficiency of bar operations
  • Resolving customer complaints and attending to all customer correspondence
  • Knowledge of Food & Beverage pairings

Candidate Qualifications:

  • 3+ years’ experience as a Beverage Director, Bar Director, or comparable beverage management role OR 5+ years’ experience as a Bar Manager or Beverage Manager in a full-service, fine-dining or upscale restaurant concept is required
  • Deep knowledge of European spirits, any wine experience a plus
  • Opening experience a plus
  • Fine dining and/or chef-driven experience highly preferred
  • Passionate, hands-on leader
  • Ability to train and educate staff
  • Creative and collaborative
  • Strong knowledge of Food & Beverage service, spirits & cocktails, creating and developing beverage programs, cost control, labor control, maintenance, merchandising & accounting
  • Commitment to creating a welcoming, memorable, and unique guest experience
  • A sophisticated communicator with high standards of performance together with excellent communication, problem solving and listening skills
  • Passionate about the Hospitality Industry and Guest Relations
  • Ability to work effectively under time constraints and deadlines
  • Ability to create strong relationships with guests, members, and staff
  • Strong knowledge of bar operations and core standards, policies, and standard operating procedures
  • Must have a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays

Compensation Package Includes:

  • Base Salary in the $85-100k range DOE
