Exciting new restaurant opening soon in the greater San Diego area is seeking a passionate, inspiring General Manager to join their team and help spearhead the opening. Part of a small hospitality group with several successful locations, the new concept will be an all-day eatery, bar, and bakery that aims to blend bold, colorful ideas with timeless culinary traditions. Looking for someone with a true passion for guest service, a hospitality driven ethos, and strong high-volume operational experience preferably in an upscale casual setting.

The restaurant will open with three meal periods 7 days a week, with counter service during the day and full service in the evenings. This person will need to have the ability to work well under pressure while leading by example and fostering a high energy, positive work environment for the rest of the staff. The company is very big on culture, and they are looking for like-minded people with a true love for hospitality to add value as they grow and develop with their team!

General Manager Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and positively impact all areas of the business including: sales, costs, employee retention, guest service and satisfaction, food quality, cleanliness and sanitation
  • Develop day to day operations of the restaurant alongside executive team & uphold quality standards
  • Hiring and training management team and staff prior to opening
  • Ensure quality and consistency of all products served
  • Support with all pre-opening and opening activities
  • Training the team to have impact in terms of top tier service and hospitality efficiently
  • Ensure all equipment is kept clean and in excellent working condition
  • Maintain positive and cooperative relationships with all vendors and business partners
  • Foster opportunities for the team to learn and grow
  • Continually strive to educate and develop of staff as it relates to food, beverage, and exemplary service
  • Creating a positive and fun working environment
  • Developing a positive relationship with guests
  • Taking ownership of the business to increase sales and profitability
  • Increasing brand awareness by creating marketing plans
  • Set an example to the team by providing excellent hospitality and service at all times
  • Anticipate the needs of the restaurant and act upon them
  • Be knowledgeable of restaurant policies regarding personnel and deliver prompt, fair and consistent corrective action for any and all violations of company policies, rules and procedures.
  • Fully understand and comply with all federal, state, county and municipal regulations that pertain to health, safety and labor requirements

General Manager Qualifications:

  • At least 2-3 years’ experience as a Restaurant General Manager (GM), Food & Beverage Director (F&B), FOH General Manager or Service Director; or 5-6+ years as a Restaurant Assistant General Manager (AGM), Service Manager, Outlets Manager, or FOH Department Manager from a full-service and/or upscale-casual restaurant concept is required
  • High volume experience required, preferably with a high-end casual, all-day oriented concept
  • New restaurant opening experience a huge plus
  • Proven track record in leading and motivating a team
  • Passionate about the industry and a collaborative leader
  • Strong knowledge of food, beverage, and guest service

Compensation Package Includes:

  • Base Salary in the $95-110k range DOE
  • Bonus Potential
  • 50% Medical Coverage including dependents
  • 2 Weeks PTO
