Progressive Italian concept with California ingredient-driven influences is looking for an Exec Sous Chef to join the team. This community beloved, busy restaurant known for their high quality, innovative cuisine offers an accessible, chef driven menu including fresh pastas and mains (no pizza!). Strong leadership, experience with systems and high-volume settings is key. Dinner service only!


Executive Sous Chef Responsibilities:  

  • Execute dishes in a high-volume environment with a commitment to consistent high-quality standards
  • Support Executive Chef in daily kitchen oversight
  • Maintain proper ordering, scheduling, and inventory
  • Lead and mentor a strong team, including hiring, training, and coaching
  • Inspire a positive work environment via effective, professional communication with the team 
  • Ensuring best practices for safety and sanitation in the kitchen

Executive Sous Chef Preferred Requirements: 

  • 1-3+ years of experience in a similar position: Executive Sous Chef, CDC, Senior Sous Chef, Kitchen Manager, or Sous Chef
  • Experience in chef driven kitchens, making fresh pasta, butchering, fabrication
  • Knowledge of systems/procedures, managing inventory, and cost controls
  • Effective leadership and communication skills
  • Motivated and thrives in a high-volume setting
  • Spanish language skills a plus
  • Flexible schedule, including weekends, nights and holidays

  • Competitive Base Salary in the $75-85k range
