Acclaimed Forbes 5-star property is seeking a Chef de Cuisine to oversee their main kitchen, servicing their quintessential Californian cuisine concept as well as a high-volume brunch service. This sophisticated culinary program offers opportunities to utilize the local farms and resources abundant within the area as well as growth within this premier group. Candidates should have a background in Michelin and/or Forbes 4 or 5 star properties.


Chef de Cuisine Responsibilities:

  • Creating thoughtful food that fits the concept’s renowned aesthetic, ensuring that all product meets the highest standards of quality and consistency
  • Overseeing the full scope of the kitchen on a day-to-day basis
  • Proactively managing costs, budgets, and labor while maintaining proper ordering and inventory
  • Staff Management: scheduling, hiring, training
  • Leading and mentoring a strong unified culinary team
  • Ensuring best practices for safety and sanitation in the kitchen

Chef de Cuisine Preferred Requirements:

  • 3+ years’ experience in similar role (Chef de Cuisine, Exec Sous Chef, Sous Chef, Senior Sous Chef)
  • Passion for high quality ingredients and sourcing fresh product from farmer’s markets, local farms/suppliers, etc. whenever possible
  • Background in acclaimed concepts required (Forbes, James Beard or Michelin starred)
  • Creative, innovative, and keeps track of new trends in the industry
  • Excellent communication skills and leadership qualities
  • Experience in managing inventory and cost controls
  • Flexible schedule, including working night, weekends, and on holidays

Compensation Package Includes:

  • Base salary in the range of $100-120k
  • Medical benefits package
