Successful San Diego restaurant group is seeking an Executive Chef for their energetic, upscale Japanese concept. Great opportunity to work for a growing company focused on scratch cooking and premium ingredients in a high volume, spirited atmosphere! High end Japanese and/or Sushi experience is required.


Executive Chef Responsibilities:

  • Proactively manage costs and budgets to meet financial goals
  • Ensure that all food meets the highest standards of quality and consistency in high volume setting
  • Train, mentor and coach the culinary team to grow to their highest potential
  • Maintain best practices for safety and sanitation in the kitchen
  • Administrative tasks such as ordering, scheduling, hiring, manager meetings, etc.

Executive Chef Preferred Requirements:

  • 5+ years’ experience as an Executive Chef or Chef de Cuisine in a high-volume, upscale concept
  • Experience with Japanese cuisine is required
  • Forward thinking, maintaining awareness of current food trends and seasonal ingredients
  • Highly organized and able to thrive in a high-volume environment
  • Expert knowledge and fully fluent in P&L, managing inventory, and cost controls
  • Highest standards for cleanliness, health, and safety
  • Flexible schedule, including weekends, nights and holidays

Compensation Package Includes:

  • Base Salary in the range of $100-120k
