A lauded San Diego restaurant is looking for a dynamic and experienced Assistant General Manager who is looking to grow with a thriving concept. The ideal candidate is a polished, dedicated leader with a background in respected restaurants, who can help grow a strong, cohesive team and drive impeccable standards of service. Must have strong administrative skills and prior experience with P&L, staffing, inventory, and COGs is strongly preferred. Someone with a warm personality who can motivate a team while creating memorable guest experiences and leading by example on the floor. Assistant General Manager Responsibilities:

  • Support management and ownership in overseeing all aspects of restaurant’s operations, including but not limited to staffing, inventory management, and quality control
  • Perform all aspects of the job with a high level of professionalism and integrity
  • Establish a positive work culture that is in line with company culture, values, and philosophies
  • Provide consistent execution and exemplary service to guests at all times
  • Direct the FOH team to ensure all opening, mid, and closing procedures are followed
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the restaurant
  • Assist with recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and retaining a successful team
  • Train, coach, and mentor team members, ensuring opportunities for the team to learn and grow
  • Ensure completion of food safety checklists and compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations, conducting regular inspections and implementing corrective actions as needed
  • Solve any guest issues in a timely and appropriate manner
  • Hold team accountable to high standards while remaining hands on and leading by example
  • Assess employee performance and provide helpful feedback and training opportunities
  • Understand and comply with CA labor laws

Assistant General Manager Requirements:

  • Minimum 2-3 years’ experience as Restaurant Assistant General Manager (AGM) or 5+ years as a Restaurant Manager, Food & Beverage Manager, Dining Room Manager, FOH Manager, or Hospitality Manager in a full-service, upscale, fine-dining restaurant or comparable concept is required
  • High service pedigree is highly preferred
  • Strong passion for food and beverage
  • Strong understanding of administrative functions and basic knowledge of controlling cost of goods
  • High attention to detail
  • Reliable and punctual
  • Toast POS, Clover, or similar POS experience
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong interpersonal, leadership, coaching, and conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to prioritize and manage time effectively
  • Strong critical thinking and problem solving abilities
  • Ability to analyze processes and information, identify problems and trends, and develop effective solutions and strategies
  • Commitment to providing exceptional service to guests and support to staff members
  • Exceptional standards for cleanliness, health, and safety
  • Computer proficiency, including the use of Microsoft office
  • Flexible schedule, including weekends, and on holidays
  • Food safety certification

Compensation Includes:

  • Base Salary in the $80-100k range DOE
  • Monthly Medical Stipend
