Top global food service and hospitality company is looking for a Sous Chef with extensive past catering, banquet or production experience for their high volume multi-faceted LA location with a largely scratch kitchen. This group is passionate about top quality products and presentation in a variety of mediums, whether that’s serving 300 covers in the café during lunch service, a grab and go breakfast, weekly catering, or large group events. Of note, while the operation is largely Monday-Friday with day oriented hours of operations, there are weekend and evening events.

Sous Chef Responsibilities:

  • Oversee BOH team and ensure that all food and products are consistently prepared and served according to the established recipes, portioning, cooking and serving standards
  • Establish an efficient kitchen environment, respecting the ingredients and minimizing waste
  • Administrative functions: scheduling, purchasing, receiving, quality control, and inventory of all kitchen items
  • Ensure best practices for safety and sanitation in the kitchen
  • Monitor all kitchen equipment for proper use, cleanliness and good working condition through personal inspection
  • Maintain a positive and productive work atmosphere via effective and respectful communication with the team members

Sous Chef Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience as a Sous Chef, Executive Sous Chef, Head Chef, or Kitchen Manager
  • Bulk preparation and high-volume experience
  • Extensive past catering, banquet, or production experience required
  • Hotel background a plus
  • Passion for scratch cooking, seasonal ingredients, presentation, and consistent top-quality execution
  • Proficient with administrative responsibilities (ordering and inventory systems) and using applicable technology to enhance efficiency            
  • Excellent leadership, communication and team building skills
  • Flexible schedule

Compensation Package Includes:

  • Base Salary Range: $67-77k
