Fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about Modern Mediterranean and the spectrum of ingredients available -from Sardinian bottarga to Moroccan ras el hanout! This is a growing group that is looking for an innovative Executive Chef to spearhead a concept that features nuances from the entire region, stretching from the Levant to Spain and the range of flavors in between. This group prides themselves on celebrating diversity within their own teams and delivering elevated yet rustic cuisine, in a high-volume environment.  Ideal candidates will enjoy mentoring their team and fostering a fulfilling, creative and respectful kitchen culture. Live fire cooking experience highly preferred!

Very open to an up-and-comer and relocating a passionate chef to sunny San Diego! 

Executive Chef Responsibilities:

  • Creative collaboration with leadership on a constantly evolving menu
  • Delivering elevated ingredient-driven cuisine with consistently high standards
  • Managing food/labor costs and budgets
  • Maintaining proper ordering, inventory, and product quality
  • Staff management and mentorship to include scheduling, hiring, training, and coaching – genuinely leading a team
  • Ensuring the highest standards of safety and sanitation in the kitchen

Executive Chef Preferred Requirements:

  • 1+ years of experience as an Executive Chef OR 3+ years of experience as Chef de Cuisine and/or Executive Sous Chef in a chef-driven concept that features Mediterranean cuisine
  • Mediterranean cuisine (Italian, Spanish, North African, Levant, Israeli, Lebanese, etc.) required
  • Live fire and/or wood-fired experience preferred
  • Love for elevating quality ingredient
  • High volume experience (5 MIL+) 
  • Excellent communication skills and leadership qualities
  • Exceptional standards for cleanliness, health, and safety
  • Expert knowledge and fully fluent in P&L, managing inventory, and cost controls
  • Flexible schedule, including weekends, and on holiday

Compensation / Benefits:

  • Base Salary Range of $110-130K
