Modern events company is looking to add a Sous Chef to the team! This role will assist the Executive Chef with leading high end events. They offer a fresh take on catering with a seasonal approach to menus and high quality ingredients. Familiarity with a from scratch kitchen is a must. No past catering experience required!  

Sous Chef Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the highest possible standards of quality, cleanliness, precision and execution among the kitchen team and throughout the kitchen space, including at off-site events
  • Oversee the sanitation standards of all kitchens to assure compliance with local health department standards and company standards
  • Oversee and execute catered events – both small and intimate as well as large scale
  • Assist with operational logistics, including pack-outs, on-site set up, transportation scheduling, and staff scheduling
  • Ordering, receiving and assisting with maintaining food costs 
  • Maintain a positive, work environment via effective, professional communication with other employees and managers 

Sous Chef Requirements:

  • Past Sous Chef, Jr. Sous Chef, Tournant, or Assistant Kitchen Manager experience in a from-scratch high volume kitchen
  • Offsite catering experience a plus!
  • Friendly team player with a positive attitude 
  • Ability to think quickly and multi-task in a fast paced environment 
  • Ability to take and give direction
  • Knowledge of kitchen sanitation, operation and maintenance of kitchen equipment
  • Flexible to work flexible hours due to business requirements including nights, weekends and holidays

Compensation includes:

  • Base Salary in the $65-75k range
