World Famous, Chef-Driven Catering Company is seeking a hands-on Senior Operations Manager to help lead the team and execute events. Past experience managing large scale on-and-off-site events is ideal, in addition to rental experience and a basic understanding of financials. This is a very hands-on role that will be working on site in the office when not at events, and candidates must be comfortable with travel. The Senior Operations Manager will be supporting the GM and Director of Operations, with a team of captains and an Ops Manager. Candidates with banquet and/or catering experience highly preferred. Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates and helps oversee on-site and off-site catering events
  • Creating and maintaining relationships for future business
  • Provide support to the GM and Director of Operations in a positive manner
  • Participates in employee meetings, reviews, and training programs
  • Hires, trains, and schedules catering staff
  • Placing rental orders, customizing menus, and staffing events
  • Ensures successful operations of catering functions including preparation, transportation, setup, operation, and cleanup of all events
  • Maintain accurate and up to date records of all sales functions and transactions
  • Must communicate and work closely with Executive Chef and managing partners
  • Manages in compliance with Company established policies and procedures
  • Taking extra steps to focus on details and guest service
  • Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal laws and regulations
  • Maintains food cost while ensuring quality standards
  • Responds in a timely manner to customer issues and resolves complaints
  • Maintain effective communication, direction, support, timely feedback and recognition of performance
  • Provides support and coaching to team members to drive high levels of performance, job satisfaction, and personal growth

Candidate Qualifications:

  • 3-4 years of experience as a Catering Manager, Catering Sales Manager, Catering Operations Manager, Senior Catering Manager, Events & Catering Manager, or Banquet Manager with a catering company, events, full service hotel or restaurant
  • High-volume, large scale event experience highly preferred
  • Catering/Banquet experience ideal
  • Rental experience ideal
  • Must have strong off-premise special event experience
  • Experience managing a Catering Sales Department team
  • Strong catering sales and event planning experience
  • Must be very detail-oriented & can prioritize tasks
  • Quick to think on the fly and can swiftly come up with solutions to unexpected issues
  • Able to multi-task and remain organized in a very fast-paced environment
  • Needs to proactively follow up with leads/open ended items
  • Work with fluctuating schedule based on departmental requirements.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Strong PC skills with a working knowledge of including but not limited to MS Excel, MS Word, MS Office, and Outlook. Delphi experience is a plus.
  • Highly organized and creative
  • Must be able to clearly and effectively communicate
  • Flexible schedule including weekends, evenings and holidays is required
  • Knowledge of basic safety, health and sanitation standards
  • Must be able to work onsite when not at events – not a hybrid role

Compensation Package Includes:

  • Base Salary in the $90-100k range DOE
