Executive Chef – Multi-Unit Italian Concept Los Angeles CA
Salary: $100000 – $125000
Italian concept is seeking an inspirational Executive Chef to lead their culinary team and grow with an expanding independent company. Open to a strong up and comer who’s looking to step into their first multi-unit role with oversight of two locations that includes: mentoring chefs, creative collaboration, future openings, and full financial responsibility for kitchen P&Ls. The Executive Chef will also participate in the planning and cultivation of the restaurant’s extensive chef garden and translating the produce into seasonal menu changes.
Strong financial acumen required.
Executive Chef Responsibilities:
- Creating incredible food of the highest caliber
- Proactively managing costs and budgets while engineering a seasonal menu
- Ensuring that all food meets the highest standards of quality and consistency
- Maintaining proper ordering and inventory
- Staff Management (scheduling, hiring, training)
- Leading, hands-on coaching and mentoring a strong team
- Be present with the team and build a positive work environment
- Ensuring best practices for safety and sanitation in the kitchen
Executive Chef Preferred Requirements:
- 3+ years’ experience as an Executive Chef or Chef de Cuisine or 1 year in a multiunit Chef role such as a regional chef, corporate chef, or culinary director
- Expert knowledge and fully fluent in P&L, managing inventory, and cost controls
- Love for quality, seasonal ingredients
- Italian experience preferred and fresh made pasta experience a plus!
- Excellent communication skills and leadership qualities
- Exceptional standards for cleanliness, health, and safety
- Flexible schedule, including weekends, and on holidays
Compensation / Benefits:
- Base salary in the 100-125K range
