Responsibilities:
- Accounting Department Oversight: Assume responsibility for all aspects of the accounting department, ensuring its efficient and effective functioning.
- Financial Reporting: Oversee the production of periodic financial reports, guaranteeing compliance with GAAP.
- Account Receivables Management: Supervise account receivables, including invoicing and collections from wholesale customers through various platforms.
- Financial Statement Auditing: Collaborate with the outsourced accounting team to audit financial statements, ensuring accuracy and integrity.
- Review and Analysis: Conduct thorough reviews of general ledger, balance sheet, and profit and loss statements, identifying any discrepancies or irregularities.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Collaborate with the operations team in the annual budgeting and forecasting process, providing valuable insights and support.
- Technical Accounting Guidance: Offer guidance and support on technical accounting matters, ensuring compliance with GAAP.
- Financial Analysis and Improvement: Identify and assess financial issues, analyzing historical, current, and projected operations to drive improvements.
- Cash Flow Management: Monitor cash needs and forecasting models, ensuring sufficient operating capital at all times.
- Training and Mentorship: Mentor and train store management on basic accounting principles, fostering a knowledgeable and capable team.
- External Audit Support: Act as the primary liaison with external auditors, providing requested information for audits.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure accurate and timely filing of quarterly and annual reports with relevant governmental agencies.
- Insurance and Banking Liaison: Serve as a liaison with the insurance broker, CPA, and bank as required.
- Additional Responsibilities: Undertake any other related duties as assigned, supporting the overall success of the restaurant group.
Requirements:
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience as Accounting Manager, Senior Accountant, Accounting Supervisor, Finance Manager or Controller, in multi-unit retail, restaurant, or hospitality, with a strong emphasis on restaurant operations.
- Management Skills: Exceptional management, communication, and interpersonal skills to lead and collaborate effectively.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, accounting software, and ERP systems.
- Technology: Familiarity with Toast POS, Ctuit, QuickBooks, MarketMan, Sage Intacct and MarginEdge
- Deadline-Driven: Ability to work independently, handle multiple tasks simultaneously, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Base Salary: $90-100k depending on experience
