Salary: $200000 – $250000
This highly acclaimed, established, and growing restaurant group is seeking a Vice President of Operations to be responsible and accountable for overseeing all restaurant activities and assume responsibility for the support of Directors and management in all venues. The Vice President of Operations will work to ensure that all activities are consistent with and supportive of the company’s each individual restaurant’s business plan. The Vice President of Operations will report directly to ownership.
VP Responsibilities:
- Work as a resource for all Directors in the group. Nurture those relationships and help support their vision as it’s consistent with the group’s values
- Prepares reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends
- Build annual budgets for all restaurants and train all GMs/Directors on budgets and hold them accountable for the numbers
- Problem-solve and work on site when a restaurant is struggling. Work to fix issues and train management staff to continue to improve
- Systems focused and ability to drive revenue
- Work to standardize any manuals or forms that can better help streamline operations throughout the restaurants
- Monitor restaurant performance to identify emerging trends and areas of opportunity, including new technology or service models
- Provide structures, support and training and development
- Help Directors to drive initiatives consistently
- Work to standardize any manuals or forms that can better help streamline operations through the restaurants
- Help source, implement, refine and streamline company systems (such as POS, Payroll, On-boarding, Catering, Reservations)
- Oversee the planning and critical path of new restaurant openings
- Provide any additional support to the restaurants
- Create culture that is in tune with the company ethos
Candidate Requirements:
- 5+ years in Executive level positions, Vice President of Operations and/or 8-10 years’ experience Director level experience
- Strategic background with a passion for hospitality
- New restaurant opening experience
- Ability to travel outside of CA
- Excellent financial acumen and experience with budgeting, forecasting, and P&L management.
- Outstanding problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a proactive and solution-oriented mindset
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders
- Knowledge of industry regulations, health and safety standards, and compliance requirements
- Able to work a minimum of 50 hours per week
- Must be able to work flexible hours necessary to manage and operate the business effectively
- Requires long stretches of standing, occasional carrying, pushing or pulling of items up to 50 lbs in weight
Compensation:
- $200-250K Base Salary DOE
