Concept Development Chef – Leading Group Chicago IL
Salary: $160000 – $185000
Incredible opportunity to join a high caliber team of professionals in a developmental role in Chicago, IL! The Concept Development Chef is focused on new openings, R&D, and developing new concepts within an award winning group. Looking for a well-rounded individual from recent highly esteemed, chef-driven, Michelin and James Beard backgrounds.
Individual will need to be based in Chicago and available to travel for openings.
Primary responsibilities will include:
- Recipe development (R&D) for new and existing concepts
- Spearheading innovation and staying abreast of market and industry trends
- Assist with new concept openings
- Collaborate closely with other individuals on the development team
- Liaise with culinary teams to develop and implement new ideas and SOPs based on guest and employee feedback
- Willingness to take on other tasks as assigned
Requirements:
- 2+ years as Corporate Chef, Regional Chef, Culinary Director, or VP of Culinary Operations for a respected hospitality group or 5+ years as an Executive Chef in industry-leading operations
- Previous experience working with highly regarded restaurant groups is required – Michelin and James Beard recognized
- Ability to think outside of the box
- Passion for innovation and staying on top of current industry trends
- Highly motivated individual who enjoys working in a team environment
- Experience with new restaurant openings is highly preferred
- High level of attention to detail
- Effective written and oral communication skills
- Ability to travel for openings
