Rare R&D opportunity with an established and growing Southern California group. This role is based out of Orange County with an existing team in place – they are adding this additional R&D Chef as they continue to grow. A strong sense of collaboration and ability to work well with others is critical for this role! This role is focused on authentic and regional Mexican cuisine as well as items that are only seasonally available for holidays. It is primarily Monday-Friday. Past recent experience in ingredient-driven Mexican restaurants required.

R&D Chef Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with R&D team on recipe development¬†
  • Craft recipes with ability to scale for high volume execution
  • Worked within budgeted food cost and pricing models
  • Develop training materials for recipes as part of the implementation process to ensure consistent execution
  • Support a positive, empowered work environment consistent with company values
  • Willingness to take on other tasks as assigned

R&D Chef Requirements:

  • 3+ years recent experience as an Executive Sous Chef, Senior Sous Chef, or Chef de Cuisine in respected ingredient-driven Mexican restaurants¬†
  • Strong collaborative spirit and works well with others
  • Passion for innovation and staying on top of current industry trends
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Effective written and oral communication skills
  • Spanish proficiency highly preferred

Compensation Package Includes:

  • Competitive Base Salary in $70-$85k range, with a small amount of flexibility for the right person
