Sous Chef Responsibilities:
- Responsible for maintaining proper ordering, scheduling, and inventory
- Create dishes using only the highest caliber ingredients
- Staff Management including scheduling, hiring and training
- Leading and Mentoring a strong team
- Working cleanly, efficiently, and with respect for ingredients
- Coaching and developing the team
- Effectively Manage Costs and Labor
- Ensures adherence to all recipes guidelines to provide consistent quality, proper presentation technique and food safety standards
- Maintain a positive, work environment via effective, professional communication with other employees and managers
- Creating thoughtful food that fits the aesthetic of the restaurant
Sous Chef Qualifications:
- 3+ years’ experience in a management role at a high volume, upscale restaurant
- Passion for working with seasonal, fresh ingredients
- Creative, motivated, and positive
- Highly organized and detail oriented
- Effective communication skills
- Experience in managing a high-volume business
- General knowledge of expense control as it relates to kitchen payroll and the forecasting/budgeting of expenses
- Technical literacy, including Microsoft Office, payroll management and point of sale systems
