General Manager – High-End Japanese Concept Los Angeles CA
Salary: $90000 – $100000
Acclaimed, high-end Japanese and sushi restaurant with a late night component is seeking a service-oriented General Manager to join their team! Looking for a professional candidate who thrives in a fast-paced environment and understands how to work with high end clientele. This is a beloved location with low staff turnover and lots of regular guests. The ideal candidate will have a strong floor presence and ability to mentor the team while holding them accountable to high standards. Prior sushi/Japanese cuisine experience is a plus, but not required. An awesome opportunity to get in with an established restaurant group!
General Manager Responsibilities:
- Oversee the FOH team
- Maintain, support, and promote company culture and philosophies
- Take initiative and help to build business
- Improve service standards and lead by example
- Contribute to controlling costs and maximizing efficiencies
- Maintain health, safety, and sanitation standards
- Ordering, inventory, and scheduling
- Provide an excellent guest experience and resolve all guest issues
- Hold the team accountable to high standards while remaining hands on and leading by example
- Ensure the team is well educated on the menu items
- Hire, train, motivate and coach team members
- Assess employee performance and providing helpful feedback and training opportunities
- Understand and comply with CA labor laws
General Manager Requirements:
- 3-4 years of experience as a General Manager (GM), Food & Beverage Director, (F&B), FOH General Manager, or Assistant General Manager (AGM) from a full-service, upscale restaurant concept from a full-service, upscale restaurant concept
- Past sushi or Japanese cuisine experience is a plus, but not required
- Previous night club experience is preferred
- Passion for food, beverage, and guest service
- Basic understanding of administrative functions and controlling cost of goods
- High attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong interpersonal, leadership, coaching, and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to prioritize and manage time effectively
- Ability to analyze processes and information, identify problems and trends, and develop effective solutions and strategies
- Commitment to providing exceptional service to guests and support to staff members
- Exceptional standards for cleanliness, health, and safety
- Computer proficiency, including the use of Microsoft office
- Flexible schedule, including weekends, and on holidays
- Food safety certification
Compensation Package Includes:
