Jr. Sous Chef – Gourmet Marketplace Los Angeles CA
Salary: $60000 – $65000
Popular, trendy café known for its fresh, seasonal fare and gourmet marketplace is looking for a Sous Chef to join the team. This role would be spearheading the catering portion.
Sous Chef Responsibilities:
- Ensuring that all food meets the highest standards of quality and consistency
- Collaborate with and support the culinary management team (Executive Chef, CDC, Exec Sous)
- Proper ordering and inventory
- Ensuring best practices for safety and sanitation in the kitchen
- Keeping track of new trends in the industry, especially within the healthy lifestyle space
Sous Chef Preferred Requirements:
- 2+ years of experience in a similar position (Sous Chef, Kitchen Manager, Kitchen Supervisor, Junior Sous)
- Bilingual Spanish required
- Love for unique, quality, locally sourced ingredients
- Excellent communication skills and leadership qualities
- Highly motivated, passionate, and have a strong sense of humility
- Exceptional standards for cleanliness, health, and safety
- Flexible schedule, including weekends, and on holidays
