Eastside neighborhood restaurant & music venue in a PRIME location is seeking a strong, service-minded General Manager to lead their team and set a stellar example of guest service. This person will be responsible for scheduling, recruiting, and staffing as well as developing the team and elevating service standards. Creating memorable experiences and consistent systems & service is the main focus of this role. P&L/financial knowledge is a plus, but not mandatory. General Manager Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the FOH team
  • Maintain, support, and promote company culture and philosophies
  • Take initiative and help to build business
  • Improve service standards and lead by example
  • Contribute to controlling costs and maximizing efficiencies
  • Maintain health, safety, and sanitation standards
  • Ordering, inventory, and scheduling
  • Provide an excellent guest experience and resolve all guest issues
  • Hold the team accountable to high standards while remaining hands on and leading by example
  • Ensure the team is well educated on the menu items
  • Hire, train, motivate and coach team members
  • Assess employee performance and providing helpful feedback and training opportunities
  • Understand and comply with CA labor laws

General Manager Requirements:

  • 3-4 years of experience as a Restaurant Assistant General Manager (AGM), Food & Beverage Director, (F&B), FOH General Manager, FOH Floor Manager, or Restaurant Supervisor from a full-service, multi-use restaurant concept is required
  • Passion for food, beverage, and guest service
  • Basic understanding of administrative functions and controlling cost of goods
  • High attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong interpersonal, leadership, coaching, and conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to prioritize and manage time effectively
  • Ability to analyze processes and information, identify problems and trends, and develop effective solutions and strategies
  • Commitment to providing exceptional service to guests and support to staff members
  • Exceptional standards for cleanliness, health, and safety
  • Computer proficiency, including the use of Microsoft office
  • Flexible schedule, including weekends, and on holidays
  • Food safety certification

Compensation Package Includes:

  • Competitive Base Salary in the $90-100k range
