High-caliber, chef-driven catering and events company is seeking a Sous Chef to assist the Catering culinary team and carry out premier events. This widely respected firm prides themselves on their combination of unrivaled food offerings, superior service, and design to ensure an unforgettable guest experience. Candidates must have off-site catering experience and comfortability helping to execute large-scale, high-end events. Looking for a polished and experienced chef who can step in and immediately hit the ground running!

Sous Chef Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the highest possible standards of quality, cleanliness, precision and execution among the kitchen team and throughout the kitchen space, including at off-site events
  • Oversee the sanitation standards of all kitchens to assure compliance with local health department standards and company standards.
  • Oversee and execute catered events of up to 3,000 guests
  • Assist with operational logistics, including pack-outs, on-site set up, transportation scheduling, and staff scheduling
  • Ordering, receiving and maintaining food costs 
  • Keep equipment clean and in excellent working condition 
  • Motivating and coaching staff 
  • Maintain a positive, work environment via effective, professional communication with other employees and managers 

Executive Chef Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years as a Sous Chef in high-volume catering industry doing at least 4 MIL
  • Offsite catering experience required
  • Must have a strong foundation in technique and vast knowledge of culinary procedures and equipment 
  • Friendly, outgoing, energetic team player with a positive attitude 
  • Ability to think quickly and multi-task in a fast paced environment 
  • Flexible schedule
  • Ability to take and give direction
  • Knowledge of kitchen sanitation, operation and maintenance of kitchen equipment
  • Detail-oriented and extremely organized with the ability to learn new programs and procedures quickly
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Flexible to work extended hours due to business requirements including nights, weekends and holidays
