Popular and highly acclaimed Los Angeles restaurant is looking for an energetic, experienced Floor Manager to join the team! This chef-owned restaurant features New American Cuisine utilizing only the best and freshest ingredients. The spacious, high-volume location boasts multiple event spaces, and the service style is upscale, but not overly formal or intimidating. Candidates should be very service oriented, enjoy interacting with guests and being on the floor. Experience and knowledge in wine is a huge plus. Open to greener candidates who are highly motivated and willing to learn and grow – a self-starter with a positive attitude, professional demeanor and POS/computer proficiency is ideal. Floor Manager Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the FOH team
  • Maintain, support and promote company culture and philosophies
  • Take initiative and help to build business
  • Contribute to controlling costs and maximizing efficiencies
  • Maintain health, safety and sanitation standards
  • Ordering, inventory and scheduling
  • Provide an excellent guest experience and resolve all guest issues
  • Hold the team accountable to high standards while remaining hands on and leading by example
  • Ensure the team is well educated on the menu items
  • Hire, train, motivate and coach team members
  • Assess employee performance and providing helpful feedback and training opportunities
  • Understand and comply with CA labor laws

Floor Manager Requirements:

  • Minimum 1-2 years as a Restaurant Manager, Floor Manager, Floor Supervisor, Restaurant Supervisor, Service Manager, Dining Room Manager, FOH Manager or comparable hospitality management role in an upscale, preferably chef-driven concept
  • High volume experience highly preferred
  • The ideal person will be in touch with the restaurant scene in Los Angeles and excited to continue to grow and change with the times
  • Passion for food and beverage
  • Basic understanding of administrative functions and controlling cost of goods
  • High attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong interpersonal, leadership, coaching, and conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to prioritize and manage time effectively
  • Ability to analyze processes and information, identify problems and trends, and develop effective solutions and strategies
  • Commitment to providing exceptional service to guests and support to staff members
  • Exceptional standards for cleanliness, health, and safety
  • Computer proficiency, including the use of Microsoft office, general knowledge of POS systems
  • Food safety certification
