James Beard Award winning group in Los Angeles is looking for an energetic, experienced, and polished Floor Manager with excellent leadership skills to join the team at one of their established Hollywood concepts! The ideal candidate should be service minded, enjoy interacting with guests and being on the floor. Do not need to have prior sommelier experience, but must have strong wine knowledge. Looking for a mature manager who can help to coach, develop and respectfully lead the team while holding them accountable to high standards. Floor Manager Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the FOH team and manage the floor
  • Maintain, support and promote company culture and philosophies
  • Take initiative and help to build business
  • Contribute to controlling costs and maximizing efficiencies
  • Maintain health, safety and sanitation standards
  • Ordering, inventory and scheduling
  • Provide an excellent guest experience and resolve all guest issues
  • Hold the team accountable to high standards while remaining hands on and leading by example
  • Ensure the team is well educated on the menu items
  • Hire, train, motivate and coach team members
  • Assess employee performance and providing helpful feedback and training opportunities
  • Understand and comply with CA labor laws

Floor Manager Requirements:

  • Minimum 1-2 years’ experience as a Restaurant Manager, Floor Manager, Floor Supervisor, Restaurant Supervisor, Service Manager, Dining Room Manager, FOH Manager or comparable hospitality management role
  • Experience in high-volume, upscale, chef-driven concepts is highly preferred
  • Strong wine knowledge
  • The ideal person will be in touch with the restaurant scene in Los Angeles and excited to continue to grow and change with the times
  • Passion for food and beverage
  • Basic understanding of administrative functions and controlling cost of goods
  • High attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong interpersonal, leadership, coaching, and conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to prioritize and manage time effectively
  • Ability to analyze processes and information, identify problems and trends, and develop effective solutions and strategies
  • Commitment to providing exceptional service to guests and support to staff members
  • Exceptional standards for cleanliness, health, and safety
  • Computer proficiency, including the use of Microsoft office
  • Food safety certification
