New high volume steakhouse is looking for multiple Executive Sous Chefs to help lead the opening process alongside the rest of the culinary management team (Chef de Cuisines + Executive Chef). The restaurant is a part of a popular New York based hospitality group that specializes in restaurants and nightlife operations. The ideal candidate will have leadership experience in 10 MIL+ operations and a firm grasp of administrative responsibilities. The restaurant is slated to open in Q4 of 2021 but actively interviewing talent now! This role may include travel to New York to train for a duration.

Executive Sous Chef Responsibilities:

  • Assist culinary leadership with pre-opening and post-opening projects
  • Participate in training of culinary team members for opening (and potentially assist with hiring)
  • Maintaining proper ordering, scheduling and inventory
  • Follow direction of Executive Chef and Chef de Cuisines
  • Day to day management of kitchen and team
  • Ensuring that all food meets the highest standards of quality and consistency
  • Ensuring best practices for safety and sanitation in the kitchen

Executive Sous Chef Requirements & Preferences:

  • Past experience as an Executive Sous Chef in a high volume operation doing 10 MIL+  OR Chef de Cuisine of an 8 MIL+ operation
  • Ability to travel to New York to train is highly preferred
  • Excellent communication skills and leadership qualities
  • Ability to thrive in a high-pressure environment
  • Previous experience in an all scratch kitchen
  • New restaurant opening experience is always a plus
  • Exceptional standards for cleanliness, health, and safety
  • Knowledge of general administrative functions such as ordering, inventory, scheduling, and performance management
  • Any P&L exposure is a bonus!
  • Flexible schedule, including weekends, and on holidays
