Salary: $90000 – $100000
Exclusive, boutique sister properties in Palm Springs are bringing on a talented Executive Chef! Looking for an up-and-comer who’s passionate about executing simple rustic dishes. Room for creativity and major press potential. This role will have expansive creativity with a focus on fresh ingredients, solid technique/execution, scratch cooking and simple yet delicious food. F&B operations include restaurant, poolside dining, and intimate events.
Hotel experience not needed! Really looking for a solid leader with a great palate.
Executive Chef Responsibilities:
- Leading a healthy and dynamic kitchen team
- Culinary admin: ordering, inventory, scheduling, etc
- Effectively manage costs and labor
- Stepping in to help the team wherever needed
- Ensuring best practices for safety and sanitation in the kitchen
- Keeping track of new trends in the industry
- Communicate with vendors regarding ordering, new product offerings, pricing, and all other product-related issues
Executive Chef Preferred Requirements:
- 2+ years of experience in a similar position as Executive Chef or open to an up-and-comer with 3 years experience as a Senior Sous Chef, Executive Sous Chef, or Chef de Cuisine
- Flexibility and adaptability as the needs of the business ebb and flow
- Excellent communication skills and leadership qualities
- Full understanding of managing a kitchen: admin + P&Ls
- A strong foundation in culinary technique as well as a solid palate is imperative
