Hospitality-driven restaurant group is seeking an Executive Chef for their popular scratch kitchen concept in Claremont. This full service restaurant prides itself on consistency and uses only the freshest California ingredients. Looking for an experienced, professional, and organized chef to lead and mentor the culinary team and execute consistent, quality recipes. Someone who is passionate about good food and hospitality!

Executive Chef Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing the full scope of the kitchen on a day-to-day basis
  • Ensuring that all food meets the highest standards of quality and consistency
  • Create menu items, develop and cost recipes and train cooks on proper execution
  • Staff Management (scheduling, hiring, training)
  • Effectively Manage Costs and Labor
  • Leading and mentoring a strong team
  • Creating a positive and fun work environment
  • Build relationships with vendors to maximize quality and freshness of goods while negotiating best pricing
  • Ensuring best practices for safety and sanitation in the kitchen 

Executive Chef Preferred Requirements:

  • 4+ years of experience in a similar position preferably in a scratch kitchen concept (Head Chef, Executive Kitchen Manager, or Exec Chef)
  • Culinary degree / professional culinary education is required
  • Passionate about food; should be bright, seasonal, and ingredients driven
  • A positive leader who is organized and tech savvy with great communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate with top industry professional
  • Excellent communication skills and leadership qualities
  • Experience in managing inventory and cost controls
  • Able to work a flexible schedule including morning, nights, weekends and holidays
